25 1/4in. octagonal barrels with raised matt rib, open sights and folding leaf sight, bead foresight, the breech end mounted with a 'Hubertus' 6x42 / 49 telescopic sight in quickly-detachable mounts, 2 3/4in. shot chamber, bored approx. 1/4 choke, treble-grip scroll-back action, the top-strap with cocking-indicators, flip-up peep sight and manual safety, set front trigger, border engraving, retaining virtually full renewed colour-hardening, 13 3/4in. semi-pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, sling swivels, sprung ammunition trap and horn buttplate, the stock inset with a diamond shaped escutcheon bearing the inscription 'P. PLACIDUS VOGEL O.S.B.', weight 7lb. 14oz.

Provenance: Dom Placidus Vogel was principal of the Benedictine Abbey of Munsterschwarzach in Bavaria between 1914 - 1937. The abbey was founded as a nunnery circa 788 but it had already been a religious site for some time before this. The acronym O.S.B., engraved on the escutcheon stands for the Order of St. Benedict.
