circa 1855, with browned, twist-steel octagonal 10in barrels, dovetailed nickel-silver crescent foresight, standing notch rearsight, signed on the top-flat 'ALEXR MARTIN GLASGOW', platinum lined and plugged breech, scroll engraved tangs, flat, border line and scroll engraved locks signed by the maker, bolted safeties, walnut half-stocks, flat-topped chequering to the pistol-grips, spurred, scroll engraved trigger guards, single set triggers, white-metal forend caps and wedge escutcheons, original brass-tipped ebony rammers (both pistols barrels re-browned in antiquity, traces of original colour throughout, ramrod thimble detached but present on one pistol) TOGETHER WITH their original mahogany fitted case with brass corners, lined in maroon velvet with a full complement of accessories including a three-way flask and loading mallet
