A CASED 13-BORE DOUBLE-BARRELLED PERCUSSION COACHING GUN, serial no. 784 WITH SPARE BARRELS BY JOHN DICKSON & SON EDINBURGH
circa 1840, possibly converted from flintlock, with shortened re-browned twist-steel 19in barrels, the top-rib signed 'JOSEPH LANG, LONDON', (re-engraved) scroll engraved and platinum lined breech with platinum plugs, scroll and shell engraved top-tang, flat, slightly curved locks with fancy border and scroll engraving, signed 'JOSEPH LANG', walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, blued, engraved steel furniture (worn), original, shortened brass-mounted ramrod (re-finished throughout, locks re-coloured) TOGETHER WITH a pair of 16-bore fine damascus barrels, serial number 784, signed on the rib 'JOHN DICKSON & SON, 63 PRINCES STREET EDINBURGH' and a period mahogany guncase, compartmented for both sets of barrels and lined in green baize with an original 'Joseph Lang' trade label to lid and a small assortment of accessories.
