circa 1740, with 20in curved blade, double edged for the last 7 1/2in, deeply struck with a makers mark to both sides of the blade, brass shell-guard cast with a winged cherub and foliage, knuckle-bow with masks and pommel with four fleur de lys, staghorn grip, the whole patinated throughout
