A 12-BORE HORSLEY PATENT TOPLEVER SINGLE-BITE SNAP-ACTION BAR-IN-WOOD HAMMERGUN, serial no. 2211.
30in. nitro reproved replacement barrels, the rib engraved 'HARKOM & SON. EDINBURGH.' (left wall thickness below recommended minimum), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 3/4 choke, incorporating barrel bolting patent No. 2410 of 1st October 1863 with uncommon toplever adaptation, and retracting striker patent No. 1138 of 17th April 1867, non-rebounding sidelocks with carved dolphin hammers, the breasts of the hammers with spurs operating striker retracting cams, border and acanthus scroll engraving, the hammers engraved en-suite, grip safety, bar-in-wood, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, 14 1/4in. figured stock (some slight splits to woodwork near knuckle) with steel buttplate, weight 6lb. 15oz.
