A GOOD IVORY-HILTED OTTOMAN KINJAL,
circa 1860, with treble-fullered 15 1/4in. straight blade tapering to a needle-point, the front face with two wide external fullers extending for half the blade length, inlaid in gold with arabic inscriptions surrounded by cartouches with floral ends, further gold inlaid inscriptions to a panel at the forte, narrow central fuller, the reverse of the blade imitating the front but with full length fullers with smaller gold inlayed devices, classsically shaped marine ivory hilt (lightly stained, some age cracking), TOGETHER WITH its original white metal mounted scabbard with embossed borders (some loss of detail through polishing, a few small dents), purple velvet centre section (faded), bulbous chape and suspension ring to the reverse
