specially produced for the South-African Republic and dated 1897, with sighted 33in. barrel marked 'HENRY RIFLING' and 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO' together with the date in a triangle at the breech, blued receiver with the makers name on the left hand side and 'MADE SPECIALLY FOR Z A R' on the right, short under-lever, full-length military style woodwork, bayonet bar on the front band and later leather sling (missing clearing rod, light corrosion to exposed metal surfaces)
