A CASED PROTOTYPE .22 COMPRESSED AIR FEED GALLERY AIR PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1950, with 5in. sighted, blued barrel, blued receiver with notched rear-sight, one-piece smooth wooden grip with air-line feed in the base of butt and under-barrel in-line magazine (light wear and surface corrosion), TOGETHER WITH a custom made wooden carry-case containing three chargers, cocking tool and clearing rod, the lid with plaque engraved 'THE PROPERTY OF J. E. BROWN & P. M. WEST GUNMAKERS, NOTTS',

Provenance: We are kindly informed by the vendor that this prototype is unique, conforming to Brown and Retford's 1958 patent.
We are also informed that the original instructions for use read as follows:
1. Fasten Air intake at base of stock to 90psi dry compressed air line DO NOT TURN ON AIR SUPPLY.
2. Fill a magazine charger tube to the top with steel balls supplied (15 in total).
3. Remove spring loaded magazine follower from magazine below barrel and tip in charge of steel balles.
4. Replace magazine follower
5. FOR THE FIRST SHOT ONLY, use hooked tool supplied to draw back the air cut off piston below the rear of the receiver.
6. Turn on air supply.
7. Gun will now discharge a shot for every pull of the trigger.
8. When magazine is exhausted, re-load as above. Steel balls may be used as often as required.
