29in. nitro reproved damascus barrels, the ribs scroll engraved at the breech-ends, and inscribed 'J. PURDEY. 314 1/2 OXFORD STREET LONDON' '1' and '2', (No.2 right wall thickness at 18-) 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in all, carved percussion fences, rebounding back-action island locks with dolphin hammers, the action, lockplates and furniture engraved with best fine border and acanthus scrollwork, 14 1/4in. highly-figured stocks with 3/4in. leather-covered recoil pads (some setting cracks, No.1 fore-end wood with insert repair), weight 6lb. 7oz. (No.1) 6lb. 6oz. (No,2), in their brass-cornered oak and leather double guncase
