30in. original nitro barrels with ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2', tubes engraved HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98. NEW BOND STREET. LONDON.', No.1 left wall thickness at 18, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/4 choke;
28in. new nitro barrels (by the makers in 1988), ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2'. tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 33. BRUTON STREET, LONDON.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, shell fences, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, blued gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, blued lockpins, best bold floral and scroll engraving, the undersides with 'ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR' in an elaborate cartouche, retaining traces of colour-hardening, 14 3/8in. well-figured replacement stocks with matching fore-end woods, weight 6lb. 11oz. (original barrels) and 6lb. 11oz. (new barrels), in their brass-cornered oak and leather case with some accessories, the original barrels in a fine brass-cornered oak and leather barrel case, both cases with brass escutcheons engraved with 'A' surmounted by a coronet with five pearls and four crosses pattee

Provenance: We are kindly informed by the makers that this pair of shotguns were completed 1900 for J. Lambton, Esq. and that they subsequently fitted new stocks and fore-end woods, along with new barrels for the vendor in 1988.
