for 1897, with 5 1/2in. sighted barrel, long extractor, fitted with the extremely rare 'MAUSER CARTRIDGE .303' rear-sight graduated to 300 metres, blued early-type firing-pin retainer, deep milling to side of receiver, early-type safety, 23-groove walnut grips with lanyard-ring to base, broad-bladed trigger, complete with its matching number wooden holster-stock, the whole remaining in outstanding condition and showing little signs of use (some light scuffing to holster-stock), TOGETHER WITH a later home-produced fitted wood case, compartmented and lined in green baize and containing a stripper clip of ten drill rounds, an oil bottle and a Mauser-type cleaning rod
