20th century, with wide-fullered 35 1/2in. hatchet-point blade, back-edge signed 'J.J. RUNKEL, SOLINGEN', inspectors stamps at the forte, pierced, flat oval steel crossguard with knuckle-bow (both langets present), steel 'eared' back-strap with ribbed leather grip TOGETHER WITH its steel scabbard signed 'OSBORN & CO, BIRMINGHAM' at the throat and mounted with two suspension rings (the whole lightly stained with some mild surface corrosion)
