circa 1800 with possible earlier parts, of Indian manufacture, with a 41 3/4in. two-stage barrel (worn), applied boat-shaped fore-sight, border-lined 'banana' shaped lock in an earlier European style (at fault), brass decoration to hammer jaw, 'hand-rail' teak three-quarter stock with flattened comb in imitation of the 18th century fashion, inlet brass 'sun and moon' decoration (moon missing), wood stamped with arsenal inventory numbers, later replacement heel-plate, highly ornate brass trigger-guard tang, trident finial, chased and embossed brass side-plate, three substantial brass barrel-bands, brass nose-cap and imitation wire ramrod, the whole heavily cleaned and polished
