28in. nitro reproved damascus barrels, rib re-engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63, PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, Dickson patent round action, patent use number 229, slim fences, automatic safety with gold 'SAFE' detail, top panel with gold cocking-indicators, fine acanthus scroll engraving, retaining very slight traces of colour-hardening, 14 5/8in. highly-figured stock including 7/8in. ebonite extension, weight 6lb. 2oz.
Provenance: We are kindly informed by the makers that this shotgun was completed with 28in. barrels in August 1888.
