circa 1860, with 25in. barrel, block and blade front-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, the top of barrel stamped 'WHITWORTH PATENT', lift up trapdoor at top-tang marked 'MANUFACTURED BY WESTLEY RICHARDS' together with a triangle trademark, plain lock signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO' (hammer screw a modern replacement), walnut plain full-stock re-modelled to a half-pistol grip in antiquity (cracked through on right hand side only behind and forwards of lock-plate), iron furniture, iron barrel-band and nose cap, missing clearing rod (some bruising and scoring to woodwork, dark staining to exposed iron surfaces)
