DIE III KOMPANIE M.N., ABT. NORD, ZEUGWARDEN' (To the memory of the 15.1.1941. The 3rd Company M.N. Northern Department (or area) as were), together with feathered scrolls on a dark blue ground, the reverse etched with further feathered scrolls and Kriegsmarine iconography also on a blue ground, gilded cast cross-guard with button locking catch, spiral wire-bound cream-coloured celluloid hilt (cracked at centre) with gilded cast eagle and swastika pommel, TOGETHER WITH its original gilded brass scabbard with carved oak-leaves to the twin suspension bands and hammered decoration to body and the suspension rings, complete with a gilt Portepee knot (tarnished)
