circa 1760, with plain iron 46in. barrel, the breech end faintly inscribed 'No 69', London proofs, slightly curved, radiused lock signed 'R. WATKIN' (possibly refreshed), unbridled frizzen, circular jaws to the hammer, walnut hand-rail type full-stock carved around the top-tang, heavy brass long-spurred heel-plate, the left hand side of butt carved 'Y+C 115' possibly for 'York Castle', radiused serpentine side-plate, heavy brass trigger guard, fore-end joined at rear of first thimble, iron swivels (front broken) and iron ramrod, exposed iron surfaces cleaned and discoloured, woodwork with some bruising commensurate with age
