A CASED 12-BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN, no visible serial number,
circa 1845, with triple-staged 30in. twist-steel barrel, the top-flat signed in gold 'FULLERD, LONDON', hooked breech. platinum vent, the flat, slightly curved border and scroll engraved lock signed 'FULLERD', game-birds engraved to the tail, scroll engraved hammer (hammer-screw a crude replacement), walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, rectangular silver escutcheon behind the scroll engraved top-tang, iron long-spurred heel-plate, trigger-guard bow engraved with a dog retrieving game, silver oval take-down wedge escutcheons and fore-end tip, under-rib with original rammer, (gun lightly worn with some cleaning, some old inlet repairs to woodwork) TOGETHER WITH its original dark-stained oak case, compartmented and lined in coarse green baize (some compartments loose, missing makers label), and retaining some period accessories including a 'Dixon & Son' patent shot-flask, a powder flask (worn), two wad punches, a further ramrod and an 'ELEY BROS' cap tin.
