A COLLECTION OF FIVE AMERICAN MILITARY KNIVES AND A BOOK,
spanning the 20th century, the first an M17 trench raiders knife signed 'PLUMB. PHILA' and dated 1918, with heavy 10 1/4in. bolo blade, riveted wood grip and iron 'skull-cracker' pommel complete with its leather and brass mounted canvas scabbard dated 1918 by the maker 'BRAUER BROS', the second a MK2 knife of the type issued to the US Marine Corps complete with leather scabbard, the third a so called 'Carson Raider Gung-Ho' type signed 'COLLINS & CO, LEGITIMUS, MADE IN USA NO. 18' with 9in. heavy bolo style bowie blade, brass cross-guard and machete-style hilt (no scabbard), the fourth an M4 bayonet in a World War Two dated M18A1 scabbard and the last a US utility knife signed 'CATTARAUGUS' (feint) with the ordnance number 225Q, with leather bound hilt and a leather scabbard (worn throughout), TOGETHER WITH a signed and dedicated first edition copy of the book 'FIGHTING KNIVES' by F. J. Stephens and published by Arms and Armour Press (excellent with dust jacket)
