circa 1861, with octagonal 3 7/8in. barrel signed on the left hand side 'ALLEN & WHEELOCK WORCESTER MASS. U.S./ALLEN'S PATENTS SEPT. 7, NOV. 9, 1858' (feint), brass dove-tailed fore-sight. rare brass third model frame stamped 'JULY 3 1860', plain cylinder with forward locking notches, side mounted hammer (brazed repair), smooth walnut grips (one with front portion missing) and stud trigger (action at fault)
Other Notes: with a production run of under 1500 only a handful of brass framed examples are known to exist
