dated for 1855, with blued 38 1/4in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, ladder rear-sight, sold out of service stamps to breech, colour-hardened border-lined lockplate dated '1855' forwards of the hammer and 'V.R.' crown and cypher to the tail, walnut three-quarter military-style stock with possible later chequering, brass furniture, the top-spur of heel-plate engraved 'HTF C41'? (faint), three iron barrel-bands and iron ramrod, fair amount of original finish throughout
