manufactured in 1933, with blued 5in. round barrel, blade fore-sight, blued square-section slide with vertical finger-grips,'U' notch rear-sight adjustable for windage, the left hand side of slide marked 'WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD' over 'PISTOL SELF-LOADING .455 MKI' with the Webley 'winged bullet' trade mark to the front, blued frame, grip safety to the back-strap, exposed hammer, chequered hard rubber grips, magazine release and lanyard ring to heel, the whole retaining much original finish and appearing only lightly used
Other Notes: After World War One Webley re-commenced the production of the commercial version of their .455 High-Velocity Automatic Pistol, manufacture having practically ceased in 1914 (less than a dozen being produced between then and 1919). Demand and sales were low however, with just 100 pistols being submitted to the Proof-House in 1923, and only a further 76 being assembled until production stopped in 1933. The highest recorded serial number is 158919 making the example offered here the fifth from last pistol made and one of only 12 pistols of this model assembled in 1933
