first half of the 19th century, possibly converted for flintlock, with heavy 28in. iron barrel, the bore widening to 2 1/8in at the muzzle, Birmingham proofs, solid top-tang, flat, slightly curved border-line engraved plain lockplate, heavy walnut full-stock, brass furniture including serpentine side-plate, fitted with a horseshoe style iron swivel mount approximately halfway along the fore-end and complete with its original iron ramrod
