32in. nitro reproved (possibly blued damascus) barrels, broad raised rib engraved 'Wm. P. JONES. MAKER. 75. BATCH STREET. BIRMINGHAM.' and in script 'WINNER AT THE "FIELD" GUN TRIALS. 1879.', 3in. chambers, bored approx. full choke in both, Jones patent underlever, slotted to activate a lever on the underside of the action, operating a third bite in the action face, dolls-head extension, carved percussion fences, elongated top-strap, rebounding back-action locks, broad strikers, feathered border engraving, retaining traces of original colour-hardening, 14 1/8in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, pistolgrip-cap and including 1 3/4in. wooden extension, inked to match, fore-end with grip-catch release, weight 10lb. 2oz.
