for 1898, with heavy, round smooth-bore barrel, the top signed 'WATSON BROS, OLD BOND ST. LONDON', elevation adjustable blade fore-sight, standing 'V' notch rearsight, small folding aperture sight concealed in the barrel locking catch, slanted air-chamber signed 'H. M. QUACKENBUSH, HERKIMER, N.Y. USA, PAT SEP. 20 & OCT. 4 1887', straight-hand walnut butt-stock (probably a replacement), small hinged 'patch' box fitted in right-hand side, iron heel-plate, cocking lever forming the trigger guard and all matching numbers (old re-finish)

Other Notes: An estimated 1500-2000 of these air rifles were produced between 1884 and 1913. It is believed that this example was a special customer order through Watson Bros, as it differs through the addition of the folding peep-sight.
