possibly 15th century, the curved 27 1/2in. blade signed on the tang, translated 'BIEN OSAJURE KAGEMITSU' (1324-1428), traces of 'hamon', the edge in poor condition, the fittings mostly 18th century with a slightly earlier iron tsuba carved and inlaid with precious metals, TOGETHER WITH a black laquered 'saya'
