circa 1804, with triple-stage 30in. barrel, carved band at the beginning of the round section, the top-flat signed 'JOSEPH MANTON', applied silver fore-sight, gold line to the hooked breech, platinum touch-hole, border and scroll engraved top-tang, flat, curved lockplate with border engraving and a musical trophy to the tail, signed 'JOSEPH MANTON, LONDON' forwards of the hammer, re-faced roller-frizzen engraved on the front edge 'JOSEPH MANTON' and 'PATENT 1121', rainproof pan, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, clipped-corner silver rectangular escutcheon behind top-tang, iron furniture, oversized trigger guard bow engraved with a martial trophy, pineapple finial, two take-down wedges with silver escutcheons, horn fore-end tip and original ramrod
