for 1887, with two stage 26in. heavy target barrel, the top flat signed 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. USA.' together with the calibre, tunnel fore-sight with removable element, 'buckhorn' style rear-sight, plain low-wall action, central hammer, the top-tang fitted with a 'Lyman' micro-adjustable peep-sight, walnut straight-hand butt-stock fitted with nickel-plated 'Swiss-style' heel-plate, single-set trigger (set removed) and splinter fore-end with inlaid ebony tip (traces of finish throughout)
