MORTIMER LONDON GUN MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY, dove-tailed brass fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight on the fully engraved solid iron top-tang, engraved band at breech, slightly curved bevel-edged lockplate with engraved stepped tail signed 'H. W. MORTIMER' forwards of the hammer, sliding safe behind the hammer, roller-bearing to the frizzen spring, plain walnut full-stock with bag-shaped butt stamped 'P. CROFTON' behind the side-plate, brass vacant oval escutcheon at the wrist, brass sunburst engraved serpentine side-plate, brass trigger-guard, the bow engraved with a martial trophy, starburst finial, brass ramrod throat and pipe and brass mounted original ramrod
