26 1/4in. replacement nitro barrel engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98. NEW BOND STREET. LONDON.', with matt sight rib, open sights and two folding leaf sights for 200, 350 and 500 yards, ramp-mounted bead fore-sight, the breech end mounted with a Voigtlander & Sohn Skopar Beta telescopic sight in quickly-detachable mounts, tube engraved with rifle serial number, Henry Holland and Thomas Woodward patent action, patent no. 17578 of 15th September 1894 with spring assisted push-forward underlever, manual tang safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, action with border engraving and foliate cruciform design with 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND' centre, retaining slight traces of original colour-hardening and finish, fore-end with horn finial, 14 1/2in. pistolgrip stock with sling swivels, engraved steel pistolgrip-cap and including horn buttplate, weight 8lb. 1oz., in its full length canvas and leather case

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the rifle was completed in .303 calibre with a 26in. barrel, open sights and two leaf sights for up to 1000 yards in 1912 for 'Ponans'.
