dated for 1885, with 21 1/2in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, adjustable ladder rear-sight, plain receiver stamped with the 'V.R.' crown cypher over 'ENFIELD' and the date over 'II' over '2', tear-drop cocking indicator and thumb-rest to rear, walnut straight-hand butt-stock with inlaid brass identity disc stamped '3' over '1894' over 'I.V.FF.A' over '899', Enfield stamp and sold out of service arrows stamped in wood, full length fore-end with two iron barrel-bands and iron nose-cap, provision for clearing rod (missing), some surface corrosion and pitting throughout
