Provenance: This Lot is accompanied by a letter to the vendor from a researcher of the maker. An extract reads:

"Recently I was looking through my many records and came across the one for your 10-bore Rosson with serial number 3199. I noticed that the silver stock oval is engraved with the initials R.J.B.M., I can now tell you that these are for Mr. Robert John Barfoot Mills. Mr. Mills was Rosson's manager before WW2 and became a managing director after the war, he died in 1955 aged 55 from leukaemia. Bob Mills was a keen shot and his father, who was Rosson's physician, owned marshes on the Norfolk Broads where he shot and fished. Over the years he owned more than one Rosson gun but this is the only one I've traced to date. Incidentally, yours is still the only C.S. Rosson 10-bore that I know of."
