A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'BEAUMONT-ADAMS PATENT', serial no. B9770,
circa 1860, with 5 3/4in. octagonal barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, the top-strap signed 'FREDERIC T. BAKER, 88 FLEET ST. LONDON', plain cylinder, borderline engraved frame, the right hand side marked 'L.A.C.' beneath a crown within a shield, also 'ADAMS PATENT 25,432.R', sliding safe behind the cylinder, chequered walnut saw-back grip with iron butt-cap and hinged 'Brazier' style rammer mounted to the left hand side of barrel TOGETHER WITH its original fitted oak case, the interior compartmented and lined in green baize, 'Baker' parchment trade label to the inside of lid and containing a number of period accessories including cleaning rod, brass double-cavity mould, 'Sykes' patent flask, oil bottle and a tin of 'Joyces' percussion caps, the case lid with brass escutcheon engraved 'A. G. HOWARD ESQ.'
