A 15-BORE PERCUSSION SERVICE PISTOL, MODEL '1818/43', serial no. 230, WITH SHOULDER-STOCK no. 244,
Hanoverian, circa 1845, with re-browned 11in. barrel, applied bead fore-sight, folding notch rear-sight at the breech, cross-bolt safety, two-piece top tang joining onto the backstrap with aperture for the detachable shoulder-stock, the backstrap engraved with the serial number, plain bevel-edged lockplate signed 'HARTZBERG' (indistinct), stepped tail, plain hammer, walnut full stock with brass furniture including heavy brass butt-cap fitted with an iron saddle-ring, the cap stamped 'C.H.' over 'C' over 'N.43', serpentine sideplate stamped 'I' over 'C.43' (crossed out), brass trigger-guard bow with iron tang, brass nose-cap and no provision for ramrod TOGETHER WITH a period shoulder-stock for the same model with iron serial numbered top-tang, brass re-inforcement cheeks, sliding wooden-lidded patchbox, the underside of stock with saddle-bar and ring, fitted with a leather safety strap and push-button release catch
