circa 1840, with fluted 4in. barrel-group, the breech ends numbered '1' through '8', florally engraved barrel retaining screw, Birmingham Proofs, end-plate with safety notches locked by the hammer, white-metal round-bodied border and scroll engraved boxlock action with double action central hammer, the left hand side with vacant panel, the right engraved 'IMPROVED REVOLVING PISTOL', border and scroll engraved back-strap featuring the serial number, finely chequered walnut two-piece bag-shaped grips (small repairs to one side), hinged engraved iron butt-trap for caps and engraved iron trigger-guard bow, TOGETHER WITH its original brass cornered mahogany storage case lined in maroon velvet (faded to brown) and retaining a period loading rod bullet mould combination tool, fluted body powder flask and cap pot
