Spanish, circa 1760, with two-stage slightly swamped 36 3/8in. barrel, the top-flat inlaid in silver 'DE ERRADURAS' together with inlaid silver floral scrolls, the adjacent flats inlaid with similar scrolls, the breech-end inlaid with two makers gold poincons, three gold fleur-de lys and a further gold motif, the barrel transition chased with an engraved and gold inlaid band with silver inlaid scrolls to the top and adjacent flats, silver fore-sight bead set within an inlaid silver starburst, bevel-edged flat miquelet lock signed 'ARANGUREN' beneath the carved mainspring, engraving to the lock-tail and shell-carved hammer-bridge, a further shell carved to the top front face of frizzen, scroll engraved hammer with ring cock of typical form, walnut full-stock (some possible old repairs at wrist) with fluted butt and chequered panels to the wrist and fore-end, iron furniture including carved and engraved corner heel-plate, broad pillar-fronted trigger-guard with scrolled pistol-grip tang, the trigger-guard bow inlaid with a gold makers poincon, two pierced iron barrel-bands and original horn-tipped wood ramrod
