24 1/2in. nitro reproved barrel (smoothbored to .410, likely from .360 Express), partially turned to round from octagonal, retaining partial rib address, 2 1/2in. chamber, breech marked with action number 238, left hand flat lock with front bolted hammer, border engraving, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening and renewed finish, 14 1/4in. pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, horn pistolgrip-cap and chequered steel buttplate, bolstered fore-end with fluted finial, weight 4lb. 2oz., in a damaged full length canvas case
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this rifle was completed as a 'Best S/B Express' with a 24 1/2in. barrel in January 1894.
