circa 1900, with heavy round 26in. barrel, open sights removed and replaced with a 'STEVENS ARMS & TOOL CO' telescopic sight of approximately four power, serial no. 461, colour-hardened falling-block action, the top-tang fitted with an adjustable peep-sight, plain straight-hand butt-stock with crescent heel-plate, colour-hardened under-lever and walnut schnabel fore-end, the whole retaining virtually all its original finish
