ORIGINAL U.S.A. PATENT PAPERS (12in. x 8in.) No 770,404 OF 1904, with blue ribbon and the red seal of the United States Patent Office, granted to HAA Thorn, the managing director of Charles Lancaster together with relevant correspondence shown below,
a) 20 July 1903 - United States Application No 166,367 and also an acknowledgement from the Department of the Interior, United States Patent Office, Washington, DC in respect of "… the petition, specification, oath, and drawing of … Improvement in Single Trigger Double Barrel Guns with Fifteen Dollars as the first fee …"
b) 20 June 1904 - Letter from GF Redfern & Co, General Patent Office, London advising that the paragraph relating to "a selective slide" had to be deleted as there was no accompanying illustration.
c) 20 September 1904 - The United States of America Patent No 770,404 granted to HAA Thorn, managing director of CHARLES LANCASTER and duly sealed by the US Patent Office together with Specification and drawings in respect of Henry Alfred Alexander Thorn's invention regarding Single-Trigger Double-Barrel Guns
