A FINE PAIR OF 16-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUNS, serial no's. 1694,
circa 1840, with re-browned (by Tatham) 30in. twist barrels, the top-ribs signed 'HENRY TATHAM JNR, 37 CHARING CROSS, LONDON', white metal bead fore-sights, platinum lines and vents at breech, fully scroll engraved top-tangs, border and scroll engraved back-action locks signed 'HY TATHAM JUNR', highly figured semi-pistol grip chequered half-stocks with raised cheek-pieces, gold oval escutcheons engraved with the crest of Ernst August Elector of Hanover, Duke of Brunswick, iron heel-plates with scroll engraved long top-tangs, circular silver floral engraved escutcheons set into the pommels of the grips, border, scroll and game-scene engraved trigger-guard bows, white-metal engraved fore-end caps and original brass tipped ramrods
