A PERSIAN 'KARD' DAGGER WITH GOLD KOFTGARI DECORATION,
first half of the 19th. century, with tapering spear-point 10 1/2in. blade, both sides of the blade featuring a panel of gold koftgari animals including lion and deer, each animal pursuing the next smaller animal towards the tip of the blade, the panel with an engraved borderline, the back edge of the blade inlayed with fine koftgari arabesques extending onto the top-edge of the blade and onto the hilt of standard form, the hilt fitted with smooth ivory scales held with iron pins, TOGETHER WITH its original leather scabbard (distressed), the blade with some age staining
