circa 1850, with octagonal 6in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'WITTON & DAW, 57 THREADNEEDLE ST, LONDON, dove-tailed fore-sight, standing rear-sight notch on the recoil shield, plain cylinder, border and scroll engraved open frame, sliding safe to the right hand side (thumb-piece missing), one-piece chequered walnut grip with rectangular white-metal escutcheon to wrist, iron butt-cap with cap-box, compound linkage under-barrel rammer and traces of original finish in sheltered areas
