Belgian, circa 1860, with expertly reblued 5 1/2in. octagonal barrel signed on the top-flat in gold 'THEODORE STERCKX' within a gold bordered panel with arabesque terminals, gold band and dot-line at muzzle, further gold line arabesques at breech, plain ratchet-locking cylinder with a stylised flower relief engraved over each chamber and surrounded by further gold line decoration, open frame with profuse geometric gold line inlay, unusual rear-hinged left hand loading gate, offset hammer, smooth marine ivory grips (some age hairline cracks), butt-cap with dot and line inlaid decoration ensuite with the muzzle, trigger-guard bow ensuite with the frame, spring-loaded under-barrel ejector rod, the whole expertly refinished with some minor losses to inlays
