French, dated for 1857, with round tapering 8in. barrel in the white, gun number of '115' heavily stamped to top of breech, plain bar-action lock signed 'MRE IMP. ALE DE MUTZIG', plain walnut half-stock (repaired at wrist) stamped with numerous inspectors and re-issue marks, brass butt-cap with lanyard ring, brass two-piece side-plate and combined nose-cap, iron trigger-plate with brass trigger-guard bow and original iron cup-ended ramrod
