Continental, last quarter of the 17th century, with flat rectangular body with taper holder mounted to lid of concealed compartment on left hand side, external lock-work, broad frizzen (re-faced, spring missing), iron bi-pedal legs mounted to the front (loose) and iron bolt-shaped grip-piece with ball-butt, the whole with dark patchy staining
