circa 1800 with later conversion to percussion by drum and nipple, 8in. re-browned octagonal barrel, the top-flat inlaid with a gold poincon signed 'D. Egg. LONDON' and surmounted with a crown, gold band at breech, engraved top-tang, platinum vent to the drum, slightly curved bevel-edged lock with border line and floral engraving, sliding safe behind the engraved hammer, walnut half-stock with 'Durs Egg' style chequering to the bag-shaped butt, iron butt-cap with rear tail, engraved trigger-guard bow, set trigger and possible replacement iron chequered ramrod
