A .577 PERCUSSION SINGLE-SHOT SERVICE RIFLE, MODEL 'PATTERN '58 'BAR-ON-BAND'', no visible serial number,
circa 1860, with blued 33in. barrel rifled in five grooves, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight graduated to 1000 yds, octagonal breech-section, borderline engraved colour-hardened military-style lock signed 'W.W. GREENER' (possibly refreshed), early style hammer, walnut full-quarter stock with exposed muzzle, iron furniture including two barrel-bands, the front with bayonet-lug, iron nose-cap and jag-ended iron ramrod, complete with period leather sling, the whole being an older re-finish (some pitting present)
