dated '1857', with 39in. barrel rifled with three grooves, rear-sight calibrated to 900 yards, dated border engraved lock marked 'TOWER' with 'VR' cypher, walnut three-quarter stock, brass furniture, the barrel retained by three barrel-bands with external spring-clips each retaining traces of original blued finish, iron sling mounts and iron jag-ended ramrod
