dated for 1862, with slightly shortened 36in. sighted barrel, flip-open breech with solid thumb-catch, plain military-type lock signed '1862 ENFIELD' and a 'VR' crown cypher stamped to the tail, walnut three-quarter stock with Enfield rework stamp to the right hand side, brass furniture, three iron barrel-bands and an iron jag-ended clearing rod
