circa 1855, with octagonal 2 1/4in. barrel, barleycorn fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, plain cylinder with external ratchet locking, plain open frame, smooth flared ebony grips, hinged folding trigger, side-mounted ejector rod and side-mounted folding bayonet with flambeau blade TOGETHER WITH a period fitted moroccan tooled leather box with gold leaf lines and detail (lid faded), lined in fine blue baize in the continental style with provision for the pistol and ammunition
